Sept. 11, 2024
Lynnfield Fire Chief Glenn Davis said the businesses shared a common attic that allowed the fire to spread quickly.

A Lynnfield strip mall was destroyed by a massive fire Tuesday night.

The businesses shared a common attic which caused the fire to spread quickly, Lynnfield Fire Chief Glenn Davis told WBZ.

As the structure was old, there were no sprinklers.

The Massachusetts fire marshal's office is investigating.
